I saw my first piece of Heywood Wakefield when I lived in Denver, Colorado in the 1990s. At the time, it was very expense and collectible, especially for someone just starting out. I saved enough to purchase a hutch for my growing pottery collection found an occasional scratch-and-dent piece that I could afford. I didn’t realize until we moved to Connecticut, that we were only a short distance from the original manufacturing facility in Gardner, Massachusetts. Locality made it easier and cheaper to collect!

Since I’ve moved to Maine, Heywood is harder to come by unless you travel to the southern New Hampshire and eastern Massachusetts area. I’ve supplemented my collection with a few pieces from the new Heywood Wakefield company that made my tables to order.

Here are the pieces currently in my home. I love Heywood for its modern timelessness and ability to complement virtually any interior design.
